SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Junior Mathew Chesum captured seventh place in the men's Gold race to lead Toledo to a seventh-place team finish at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Friday.

The Rockets placed seventh as a team, finishing ahead of Auburn (eighth), Vanderbilt (12th) and Dayton (13th). California Baptist won the Gold race while Furman won the top-tier Blue race.

Following Chesum for the Rockets was sophomores Jacob Harris (30th/25:17.3), Jake Rethman (41st/25:36.9), Ben Otis (58th/25:56.8) and Jonathon Hrivnak (73rd/ 26:20.8).
