TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo mounted a furious comeback in the second half against Central Michigan, but ultimately lost by a score of 83-74.
Â
The Rockets (8-6, 4-6 MAC) trailed by as many as 21 points in the first half due in large part to the Chippewas' outstanding shooting. CMU (9-5, 7-3 MAC) shot 72.4 percent from the field in the first two quarters, fueling a 48-30 halftime lead. But Toledo came roaring back in the second half, even taking a one-point lead early in the fourth quarter. However the Chippewas were able to pull away and hand the Rockets a nine-point defeat.
Â
Toledo was led offensively by sophomore Quinesha Lockett, who poured in 23 points on 7-for-14 shooting, her seventh game with at least 20 points this season. Sophomore Sophia Wiard added 14 points and six assists to help the cause, and classmates Mali Morgan-Elliott and Soleil Barnes tallied eight points apiece.
Â
Central Michigan's Molly Davis led all comers with 27 points and eight rebounds. Micaela Kelly (17 points), Jahari Smith (16), and Kyra Bussell (14) all reached double figures in scoring for CMU.

Third Quarter

Fourth Quarter
