TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo was one of only 18 universities in the country to receive an "A" grade on the 2019-20 Women in College Coaching Report Card (WCCRC) presented by the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport. UToledo earned a 70 percent grade in the report, with seven head coaching positions filled by female coaches out of 10 women's varsity sports.

The Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport released its annual Women in College Coaching Report Card in collaboration with WeCOACH. The report, "Head coaches of women's collegiate teams: A comprehensive report on NCAA Division-I institutions, 2019-20," is an analysis of females vs. males holding head coach positions of women's teams in NCAA Division I. The report is authored by Tucker Center director, Nicole M. LaVoi, Ph.D., doctoral student and Pam Borton Fellow Courtney Boucher, and TC Summer Intern Greta Sirek.

The Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women graded NCAA universities by the percentage of women who occupy head coaching and coaching staff positions for women's sport teams. The grading scale developed to accurately reflect the percentage of female coaches for women's sport teams is as follows: A= 70 to 100 percent, B= 55 to 69 percent, C= 40 to 54 percent, D= 25 to 39 percent and F= 0 to 24 percent.
