TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's basketball team has received the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award, the association announced on Thursday. The award is in its eighth year of existence, and the Rockets have received the award on five occasions.
Toledo's five NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards leads all Mid-American Conference schools, with Central Michigan and Western Michigan being honored three times. Eastern Michigan and Kent State have been recognized once.
The Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes NCAA and NAIA men's basketball teams that earned a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better throughout the 2019-20 academic year.
The Rockets posted a 3.22 GPA during the 2019-20 academic year with
Luke Knapke,
Spencer Littleson and
Blake Williams earning spots in the NABC's Honors Court.
