CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior Luke Knapke (Maria Stein, Ohio), junior Spencer Littleson (Rochester, Mich.) and redshirt freshman T.J. Smith (Matteson, Ill.) have been named to the 2019-20 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, the league announced on Wednesday. The Rockets ranked second in the MAC with three honorees out of a total of 14 student-athletes honored in the league.

Knapke was selected to the academic team for a school-record fourth time, while Littleson was honored for a second occasion. Smith earned a spot on the league's academic squad for the first time.

Knapke, who possesses a 3.266 grade-point average and graduated last spring with a double major of management and marketing, will receive his master's degree in recreation & leisure studies in May.  On the court, Knapke earned third-team All-MAC accolades after ranking second on the team with 15.8 ppg and 8.2 rpg and leading the Rockets with a MAC-best 1.9 bpg. Knapke paced Toledo with a 39.4 three-point field-goal percentage, ranked second on the team with a 77.1 free-throw percentage and was the only player in the conference to rank in the Top 10 in points, rebounds and blocked shots. He also set school records this season for blocked shots in a game (10), season (61) and career (197).

Littleson will receive his undergraduate degree this spring and possesses a 3.341 grade-point average in marketing. He averaged 10.5 ppg this past season and ranked fifth in the MAC with a team-high 1.7 spg despite battling through a shoulder injury through the final seven weeks of the season. He also ranked second on the team and eighth in the conference with a 39.3 three-point field-goal percentage.

Smith possesses a 3.252 grade-point average and played in 31 of 32 contests. He tallied a season-high 12 points and nine rebounds vs. Howard on Nov. 17.
 
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests in their sport.
