Toledo Drops Non-Conference Contest to Chattanooga, 5-2

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.  - The Toledo men's tennis team closed out competition in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Friday, falling 5-2 to SOCON opponent Chattanooga.

"This was a great test for us in some adversarial conditions in our 2020 outdoor debut," said head coach Al Wermer. "We really fought, as usual, impressively hard."Â

The Rockets dropped the doubles point early and sophomore Cole Shoults/freshman Krzysztof Wetoszka's match on the No. 2 court was abandoned with the duo trailing 4-5 to Kerim Hyatt/Simon Bustamante.Â

Shoults put the Rockets on the board during singles play, defeating Kerim Hyatt 6-1, 7-5 on the No. 3 court. Freshman Max Skaer scored the Rockets' second point with a three-set victory over Jacob Marshall on the No. 6 court (3-6, 7-6(5), 10-4).Â
