CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference has canceled the remainder of the 2020 MAC men's and women's basketball tournaments due to concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19).Â
The announcement came shortly before noon on Thursday, followed by a news conference with MAC Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.
The men's tournament was scheduled to begin today. No. 7 seed Toledo was scheduled to play No. 2 seed Bowling Green at 6:30 p.m. The women's tournament completed quarterfinals games yesterday, with the No. 9 seed Rockets upsetting No. 1 seed Central Michigan. Semifinals and championship games had been scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
