TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo suffered a 70-58 setback against Western Michigan on Saturday before 5,051 fans in Savage Arena. With the loss, the Rockets fall to 11-14 overall, 6-8 in the Mid-American Conference.

The Broncos (15-10, 8-6 MAC) outscored the Rockets 35-25 in the second half to claim their first win in the Glass City since 2014.

Freshman Quinesha Lockett paced Toledo with 17 points, followed by junior Tanaya Beacham and senior Mariella Santucci with 13 and 12, respectively. Santucci filled up the box score, adding six rebounds, a game-tying high five assists and a squad-best three steals.

The Rockets also received eight points and a team-high seven caroms from junior Nakiah Black.

As a team, Toledo shot 38.9 percent (21-of-54) from the floor, including 27.8 percent (5-of-18) from three-point range, and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the charity stripe.

The Rockets dominated the action in the lane, finishing with a commanding 30-16 edge in points in the paint.

Jordan Walker led Western Michigan with a game-high 21 points, Sydney Shafer contributed a season-high 17 and Reilly Jacobson had 14. Breanna Mobley also tallied a game-high 11 boards to help the Broncos stretch their winning streak to a season-high four-consecutive games.

The Broncos posted a 33-6 edge in bench points, triggered by the play of Shafer and Jacobson, to sweep the regular-season series from Toledo for the first time since 2013-14.

FIRST QUARTER
• WMU's Walker knocked down two early triples and scored a game-high eight points to put the visitors in front 17-14 after the first quarter.

• The Rockets received strong play from Santucci and Lockett at the outset, as they combined for nine points to keep the score close following the first 10 minutes.

SECOND QUARTER
• The teams traded baskets for a majority of the second period, but a late 9-2 WMU rally gave the visitors a 35-33 lead at the intermission.

• It looked like the division rivals would go to the break knotted up at 33-33, but a coast-to-coast layup from Chelayne Bailey just before the horn sounded put the Broncos ahead by two.

• Lockett paced the home team with 12 points in the first half, while Walker led Western Michigan with a game-high 13.

THIRD QUARTER
• WMU drilled four treys in the third stanza, including a pair by Jacobson, to make the score 53-46 heading into the final quarter. Jacobson was responsible for eight of her team's 18 points in the period to extend the Broncos' lead to seven.

FOURTH QUARTER
• Toledo turned up the heat in the final period and drew six WMU fouls. As a result of those fouls, the Midnight Blue & Gold attempted seven free throws and had some chances to score with the clock stopped.

• Unfortunately for the Rockets, the closest they would get was seven points on two occasions.

UP NEXT
• Toledo will travel to MAC West Division rival Ball State (18-8, 10-4 MAC) on Wednesday, Feb. 26. The opening tip against the Cardinals is slated for 7:00 p.m. in Worthen Arena and will be streamed on ESPN3.

• The Rockets and Cardinals will square off for the second time in the last two weeks and 84th overall. Toledo suffered a 60-58 home setback against BSU on Feb. 12 to snap a three-game winning streak in the series.
