TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo baseball team heads south this weekend to San Antonio for the Alamo Irish Classic. The Rockets will face Notre Dame, Incarnate Word, and UTSA during their stay.

- Sophomore Darryn Davis set a career high with five RBIs in last Sunday's game at East Tennessee State.
- Junior Danny O'Reilly slashed .444/.583/.889 last weekend, reaching base in seven of his 12 plate appearances.
- Senior Nate Haugh was excellent out of the bullpen in Sunday's game, contributing four shutout innings while striking out four.
- Junior Jordan Power struck out six in his four innings of work last weekend, and four of the ETSU hitters went down looking. His four backwards K's were the most of any MAC pitcher during the season-opening weekend.
- Dating back to last season, junior Chris Meyers has reached base in 13 straight games.
Scouting the Competition
UTSA
UTSA is 3-1 entering play this weekend, most recently suffering a 6-2 setback at Texas on Tuesday night. The Roadrunners swept Quinnipiac at home to start their 2020 season, outscoring their opponents 20-4 over the three games. Dylan Rock is hitting a team-best .533 (8-for-15) through the first four games and three players tie for the team lead with four RBIs. Opponents are hitting just .124 against UTSA pitchers. The pitching staff has struck out 33 while walking 14 through four games.
Incarnate Word
Incarnate Word hosted Bradley last weekend and swept the Braves, capping the weekend with a 19-9 triumph. The Cardinals are ninth in the country in scoring through the first week of play, averaging 11.7 runs per game. Drew Minter drove in eight runs last weekend and Lee Thomas slashed .600/.714/.800 during the series against Bradley. Luke Taggart was named Southland Pitcher of the Week after throwing eight shutout innings and striking out 11 on Friday night.
Notre Dame
Notre Dame won its opening series against UAB and enters the weekend at 2-1. Jared Miller hit .545 (6-for-11) with half of his hits going for extra bases. The Fighting Irish slugged .481 last weekend at UAB, hitting four home runs. The pitching staff held opposing hitters to a .136 batting average and Friday starter Tommy Sheehan was named ACC Pitcher of the Week. He threw seven scoreless innings, striking out nine and allowing just two baserunners.
