Luke Knapke Named MAC Scholar-Athlete of Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – University of Toledo senior center Luke Knapke was named Male Scholar Athlete of the Week by the Mid-American Conference for the second consecutive week after his performance for the Rockets last week.

Knapke averaged 19.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 3.0 apg to go along with a 52.5 FG% and 54.5 three-point FG% in two games for the Rockets last week. The Maria Stein, Ohio native tallied 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists against MAC West leader Northern Illinois before scoring 23 points and grabbing a team-high seven boards at MAC East leader Bowling Green. Knapke hit a pair of three-pointers in the final minutes against the Falcons to help the Rockets rally to tie the score at 83-83.

A Maria Stein, Ohio native, Knapke possesses a 3.369 grade-point average and earned his undergraduate degree with a double major in marketing and management last spring. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in recreation & leisure studies.
