TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo men's basketball program will open its 2020-21 campaign at the Xavier Invitational in Cincinnati on Nov. 25-27.
The Rockets' remaining non-conference schedule will include home games vs. Cleveland State (Dec. 1), Kansas City (Dec. 12) and Valparaiso (Dec. 19), and a road contest at Marshall (Dec. 16). Toledo will also be playing one Mid-American Conference contest in December when it visits Eastern Michigan on Friday, Dec. 4.
The Rockets will open January with a pair of road games at Western Michigan (Jan. 2) and Kent State (Jan. 5) before playing their first MAC home contest vs. Ohio (Jan. 9).
At this time, it is uncertain whether fans will be allowed to attend games. Information will be provided once that determination has been made.
Senior guards Marreon Jackson and Spencer Littleson are expected to lead a deep Toledo athletic squad in the 2020-21 campaign. Jackson earned second-team All-MAC honors last year after averaging 19.8 ppg and setting a school record with 99 three-point field goals. Littleson also averaged in double digits at 10.5 ppg and will be joined in the backcourt by 2019-20 All-MAC Freshman Team member Keshaun Saunders.
The Rockets will also return sophomores AJ Edu and Luke Maranka as well as redshirt freshman Mattia Acunzo. Toledo will also benefit this season from the addition of junior-college transfers Jonathan Komagum and Setric Millner Jr. as well as freshmen Jamere Hill and Ryan Rollins. Junior JT Shumate and freshman Ra'Heim Moss are redshirting this season and will become eligible in the 2021-22 campaign.
