EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Toledo men's tennis team fell to Michigan State 4-3 in East Lansing, Mich. on Saturday.

"When you have three freshmen starters you're dancing with the devil and  you never know for sure who's going to show up," said head coach

The Rockets kicked things off with doubles, where senior

Filip Zupancic defeated MSU's John Carlin/Anthony Pero 6-2 on the No. 1 court. On the No. 2 court, sophomore
Cole Shoults and freshman
Krzysztof Wetoszka pushed Jarreau Campbell/Drew Keene to a 6-6 tie, but fell short at 7-6(4).Â

Going into singles play Michigan State led early after claiming the first singles point on the No. 6 court. Vukotic earned the Rockets' first point in singles, sweeping Carlin 6-3, 6-3. Michigan State pushed for two more points, sealing its victory early. Zupancic posted the Rockets' second point from the No. 4 court, defeating Drew Keene 7-6(2), 7-6(6). Freshman
Luis Kleinschnitz secured Toledo's final point after a three-set battle with Jarreau Campbell (4-6, 7-5, 6-3) on the No. 5 court.Â
