TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's tennis team closed out the Rocket Invitational with two wins on the singles court and one on the doubles court. 

Head coach Al Wermer said he is very pleased with his team's progress.
 
"This team has a coach's dream combination: potential, work ethic, and enthusiasm," said Wermer. "This season's  going to be a fun ride." 
 
Freshman Max Skaer held on to his undefeated streak, tallying three doubles wins and two singles wins at the conclusion of the weekend. Skaer downed Chicago State's Cody Wurzelbacher 6-1, 6-3 in the final morning session. One court over, junior Filip Zupancic locked into a three-set thriller with the Cougars' Jesus Perez Plaza. Zupancic won the first set 6-3 before falling 4-6 in the second. The Slovenia native, clinched the victory in the third set, 10-8. 
 
In doubles action,  junior Nikola Arsic and freshman Luis Kleinschnitz posted a victory, taking Case Western Reserve's Anthony Kanam/Earl Hsieh down 6-1, 7-5. 
 
Up Next 
The Rockets will host Alumni Day on Oct. 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the UT Varsity Courts. The Rockets will then head to Louisville, Ky. for the Louisville Invitational, Oct. 11-13.
