TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team found itself on the wrong side of the scoreboard as the Rockets (0-3-0) fell 1-0 to UIC (1-1-1) in the inaugural match at Paul Hotmer Field Thursday night.
UIC's Emma Main scored the game's only goal midway through the first half, taking advantage of the Rockets' open midfield and nailing a strong strike from nearly 35-yards out that found the back of the net.
Throughout the game, the Rockets' luck ran dry as a 10-7 shot advantage produced no goals. Freshman
Stephanie Currie nearly had the equalizer late in the second half, as a cross from
Marcy Clark came right across the box but was just out of reach of the crafty left-footer.
