TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's basketball team announced Friday that it will be participating in the Las Vegas South Point Holiday Hoops Classic on Dec. 19-20.

Toledo is slated to play Sun Belt Conference foe Troy on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 2:30 p.m. (PST) and West Coast Conference member Pacific on Friday, Dec. 20 at 5:00 p.m. (PST). All neutral-site games will be played at the four-star South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Toledo, which will venture to "Entertainment Capital of the World" for the first time since the 1995-96 season, will compete against both the Trojans and Tigers for the first time in program history. Troy posted a 22-9 overall ledger in 2018-19, the second-most wins in program history, and earned a bid to the Postseason WNIT. Pacific went 19-13 last season and reached the postseason for the first time since 2015, falling to eventual Postseason WNIT champion Arizona. 

The other four teams participating in the two-day event are Mid-American Conference member Kent State, Sun Belt Conference foe Georgia Southern and Northeast Conference member St. Francis Brooklyn.

Toledo is slated to return nine letterwinners in 2019-20, including three starters from last year's squad that posted a 21-12 overall record and an 11-7 ledger in the MAC.

The Rockets, who finished second in the MAC West Division standings, made their 12th overall appearance in the 2019 Postseason WNIT and seventh under Head Coach Tricia Cullop. Toledo defeated BIG EAST member Seton Hall, 71-65, in the first round before falling at eventual tourney finalist and Big Ten foe Northwestern, 54-47, in the second round.

Senior Mariella Santucci (9.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 5.1 apg), senior Sara Rokkanen (6.3 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.8 apg), junior Nakiah Black (10.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 2.2 apg) and junior Tanaya Beacham (3.9 ppg, 3.0 rpg) will be the leading returnees for Toledo in 2019-20.

Toledo's complete 2019-20 schedule will be announced later this summer.
