Rockets Defeat Indianapolis and Findlay Monday Night

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Toledo women's swimming and diving team defeated the University of Indianapolis (123-118) and Findlay (155-80) Monday night in a tri-meet hosted by the University of Indianapolis.
Sophomore diver Joelle Gallais brought home first-place finishes on both diving boards. Gallais took first on the three-meter board, scoring a 247.50, over 30 points more than second place from Indianapolis. Gallais also took first on the one-meter board with a 254.77. Freshman Lina Alli competed well in the diving well, taking fourth on both boards.
Three individuals took home first-place finishes in their respective swimming events. Junior Izzy Jones continued to shine for the Rockets, placing first in the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Kendra Polewski finished fourth in the event. Freshman Lauren Kilgore continued to be successful in her rookie campaign, taking first in the 200 IM at 2:05.63. Junior Lisa Eriksson led the way for the Rockets in the 100 freestyle, taking first with a 52.98. Finishing just behind was freshman Ashley Lefever (second), and sophomores Ashley Jeffreys (third) and Kendra Polewski (fourth).
Sophomore Samantha Ekleberry placed second in both the 500 and 1000 freestyle. Senior Duda Sales earned some points to help the Rockets' win, placing second in the 100 butterfly.
The Rockets took second in the 200 freestyle relay. The relay team of Eriksson, Sales, Jones, and Kennedy Lovell swam a 1:37.71 in the event, finishing just ahead of teammates Alida Ramden, Flory Kock, Jeffreys, and Polewski. Toledo also took third in the 200 medley relay. Jeffreys, Bec Welke, Sales, and Lovell touched in the wall in 1:46.77.
The diving team will resume competition in early January, competing at the annual Buffalo Diving Invite hosted by the University at Buffalo. The swimming team will be back in action on Jan. 16 at Ball State.
