TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's swimming and diving team travels to Indianapolis, Ind. for a tri-meet against the University of Indianapolis and Finday. The meet is set to begin on Monday, Dec. 16 at 3:00 p.m.
WORDS FROM BRIE GLOBIG
"I'm excited to have the team back into competing Monday. We have been working hard to prepare for the last part of our season since our mid-season invitational in November."
LAST TIME OUT
The Rockets swimming and diving team separated in early December, as the divers competed at the Miami Diving Invitational and select swimmers traveled to Atlanta, Ga. for the Toyota U.S. Open. Sophomore Joelle Gallais had a stand out performance on the first day of the Miami Diving Invitational, scoring a 230.95 on the platforms. Gallais' score was a qualifying score for the NCAA Zone Diving meet. Gallais and Lina Alli also had good performances in the preliminary round of the three-meter board. The meet was cut short due to chemical issues in the diving well, so the three-meter finals and one-meter dives were cancelled. In the swimming pool, Izzy Jones, Lauren Kilgore, and Bec Welke competed at the U.S. Open. Jones set a program record in the 100-meter backstroke, touching the wall in 1:03.51.
COMING UP
The diving team will resume competition in early January, competing at the annual Buffalo Diving Invite hosted by the University at Buffalo. The swimming team will be back in action on Jan. 16 at Ball State.
