ATHENS, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team couldn't sneak one past Ohio's goalkeeper, as the Rockets (3-8-0, 0-3-0) fell 4-0 to the Bobcats (7-4-0, 2-1-0) Friday afternoon at Chessa Field. The contest was tied at the half, but Ohio broke a scoreless deadlock early in the second frame to secure its second conference victory.
Bobcat forward Abby Townsend opened the floodgates for Ohio in the 55th minute, taking advantage of a long ball from her defensive third to put one into the back of the net. The Bobcats added another just a few minutes later, when a turnover in the Rockets' defensive third opened up the midfield and allowed for Alivia Milesky to put one past
Madison Perrin in the 59th minute. Two more goals in the final 15 minutes of the second half ensured the Bobcat victory.
The Rockets attempted to increase their pressure on Ohio's goalkeeper Sydney Malham down the stretch but were unsuccessful.
