Rockets Hit the Road for Two Weekend Matchups

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team (3-7-0, 0-2-0) hits the road to face Ohio (6-4-0, 1-1-0) and Kent State (3-4-2, 1-0-1) this weekend. The Rockets will face the Bobcats on Friday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m. in Athens, Ohio. The team will then travel to Kent, Ohio for a 1 p.m. matchup Sunday, Oct. 6.

"We are looking forward to playing two strong MAC teams this weekend," said head coach TJ Buchholz. "Ohio and Kent State are traditionally at the top of our conference, and we are looking forward to these two tough road tests this weekend."

Following this weekend away, the Rockets will be back home Thursday, Oct. 10 for a 7 p.m. matchup against Eastern Michigan.

  • The Rockets are 15-10-0 against Ohio, claiming their last victory in 2017 in Athens, Ohio.
  • Toledo is 9-13-2 against Kent State in the all-time series. The Rockets are looking for their first win over Kent State since the 2015 season.
  • Freshman Stephanie Currie is tied for first in the Mid-American Conference in three categories - goals (5), game-winning goals (3), and points (13).
  • Currie's hat trick against Detroit Mercy was scored in 13:10, marking it the second-fastest hat trick in the country by a true freshman. Currie is also tied for fifth in the nation in shot accuracy (.750) and 20th for game-winning-goals.
  • Junior Sophia Lewis is four assists away from etching her name in the Toledo top-five with career assists.
  • Junior Madison Perrin is one win away from tying for third-most career wins in program history.
  • The Rockets won their first road match on Sunday, Sept. 22, beating Detroit Mercy 4-0.
  • The Rockets have scored three times off of a corner kick, and have yet to allow a goal off of a corner kick.
  • Toledo has forced three goal-overturns, pulling their opponents offsides 17 times.
  • Ohio is coming off of a 1-0 loss to Western Michigan.
  • Kent State is heading into the weekend 3-4-2, they will play Bowling Green on Friday.
