COLUMBUS, Ohio. - The Toledo men's tennis team finished the second day at the ITA Midwest Regional in Columbus with senior Thawin Suksathaporn joining fellow senior Danilo Vukotic in the singles main draw.  
 
Suksathaporn tallied his third win on the weekend over Chicago State's Jakov Suler, 6-2, 6-1 in the final qualifying round Friday morning. The Bangkok, Thailand native racked up his first two wins over Youngstown State's Joao Garetto (7-5, 6-3) and Marquette's Stefan Dragovic (6-2, 6-4) on Thursday. Suksathaporn will join Vukotic in Saturday's singles main draw. Vukotic is slated to take on Notre Dame's Matt Gamble, who is the No. 16 seed in the tournament, while Suksathaporn is set to face No. 8 seed Guillermo Cabrera, also from Notre Dame.
 
In doubles action, Vukotic and junior Filip Zupancic defeated Eastern Illinois' Daniel Hernandez/Christos Kyrillou, 8-7(4) to advance to the second round, where they faced No. 4 seed Justin Boulais/James Trotter from Ohio State. Vukotic/Zupancic battled hard against the Buckeye duo, but came up short as Boulais/Trotter took the win at 8-5.
 
"We didn't feel great about how our doubles fared, however, Danilo and Filip had a nice little run and pushed the No. 4 seeds to the brink," said head coach Al Wermer. "Thawin came out this morning in the qualifying singles and was just dominant." 
 
Competition will resume Saturday at 8:00 a.m. with the first round of the singles main draw as well as consolation matches.
