Toledo, Ohio – Toledo's men's and women's cross country teams are slated to compete in the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday at Silver Creek Metro Park Cross Country Trails in Norton, Ohio. The women's 6K will start at 2:00 p.m. with the men's 8K to follow at 2:45 p.m.
The Rockets last competed in Bowling Green's Mel Brodt Invitational, where the women secured first with a photo-finish from junior
Athena Welsh (5K, 17:06.1). Welsh was followed closely by sophomore
Michelle Hostettler (third, 17:44.2), freshman
Claire Steigerwald (fourth, 17:47.0), and senior
Jennifer Lichter (fifth, 17:55.1)
On the men's side, junior
Dismas Koech (15:40.3) and sophomore
Jake Papish (15:40.9) secured third and fourth, respectively. With a 5K time of 15:50.0,
Joel Duffield took sixth.
In last season's All-Ohio Championships, the Toledo women's squad landed in fifth place with 138 points.
