Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo women's swimming and diving team fell 156-112 to Eastern Michigan today in UT's first Mid-American Conference dual of the season. The Rockets recorded four event victories and 16 top-three finishes in the second meet of the season.

"I think we had a hard time transitioning from our 13-event order meet to a full-event order meet, on top of really good competition from Eastern," head coach Jonas Persson said. "We're still a young team so we're not quite there yet. I think (junior) Duda Sales had a really nice meet today and stepped up really well. Having (sophomore) Jordyn Polderman back in the 100 freestyle was nice after being out all last year too, and I think (senior) Jessica Avery had a good meet as well."

Toledo's first place finishers were Sales, freshman Joelle Gallais and the 400 free relay team of sophomore Lisa Eriksson, Sales, freshman Ashley Jeffreys and sophomore Gracie Storm.

Sales won both the 100 and 200 butterfly events. In the 100, Sales touched in at 56.15. In the 200, she finished in 2:05.89, one second shy of becoming a personal record. Gallais continued her strong start of the season by winning the 1-meter dive with a score of 240.98. The 400 free relay squad wrapped up the day by finishing in 3:37.16.

"We just need to keep on improving tomorrow," Persson said. "They need to learn how to manage back-to-back meets and we need to see some more aggressive swimming. We'll figure it out."
