Toledo, Ohio – Junior Athena Welsh was named the Mid-American Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week. This is the third time this season Welsh has earned the honor.

Welsh received the honor after securing second at the Bradley Pink Classic with a 20:36.1 in the 6K event. Welsh's finish also helped the Toledo women's squad land fifth in the team standings.

Senior Jennifer Lichter placed 36th (21:33.2), sophomore Michelle Hostettler placed 45th (21:45.3), freshman Claire Steigerwald took 50th (21:49.4), and junior Stephanie Sherman was 56^th (21:49.4) to secure the Rockets' fifth-place team finish.

Toledo will be heading to Ypsilanti for the Eastern Michigan Fall Classic on Friday October 19.
