Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team (8-6-1, 4-3-0 MAC) fell 1-0 to Ohio (6-5-3, 4-1-2 MAC) today in the penultimate home match of the regular season. The Rockets played hard but allowed a free kick in the second half that beat sophomore goalkeeper Madison Perrin.

How it happened
The Rockets jumped on the attack early on with shots coming in the opening minutes from senior captain Hannah Scafaria and sophomore Sophia Lewis. The two combined for five shots in the opening 18 minutes but every opportunity was either blocked away or saved by Ohio's Sydney Malham. The Bobcats were limited to three shots in the opening half and both teams entered halftime with the score still 0-0.
Â
Ohio's goal came four minutes into the second half when the Bobcats won a free kick at the top of the 18-yard box. Ohio's Bryce Hueber lined up and rocketed in a shot that went through the hands of Perrin to put the Bobcats up 1-0.
Â
The Rockets tried to respond for the remainder of the match but the Ohio defense dealt away UT's scoring threats. Toledo's best opportunity came in the 87th minute when senior Kelsey Kraft ran in a ball left of net that Scafaria flicked in but the play was called offside, disallowing the goal.
