
Annie Beasley and Lauren Bakaitis both earned well-deserved accolades this week
Lauren Bakaitis, Annie Beasley Earn Postseason Accolades

Toledo, Ohio— Two UT volleyball players have earned much-deserved recognitions this week. Lauren Bakaitis was named second team Academic All-District by CoSIDA, while Annie Beasley was selected honorable mention All-MAC.
Bakaitis, a senior from Avon Lake, Ohio, has twice been named an Academic All-MAC honoree and was a MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete as a junior. She is a bioengineering major and holds a 3.96 GPA at UT and is the third Academic All-District selection in program history and the first since 2006. Bakaitis recently completed her career as a Rocket, playing in 103 matches and averaging 2.66 digs per set. In her last match of the season, she recorded her 1,000th career dig and ended with 1,007 for her career.
The Academic All-District® teams include are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
Beasley is the 15th Rocket all-time to earn an All-MAC distinction. The Indianapolis, Ind. native hit a school-record .363 in 2017 and averaged 2.26 kills per set in her final collegiate season. She played in 100 matches during her career including a career-best 28 as a senior. Beasley earned both MAC West Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards and had 14 double-digit kill efforts this season. She ranked third in the MAC in hitting and averaged a team-high 0.91 blocks per set on the defensive end.
