Toledo Traveling to Kentucky for Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

   TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo returns to action with a trip to Lexington, Ky. this weekend to compete in the 28th annual Bettie Lou Evans Invitational this weekend. The tournament will consist of 54 holes with 18 holes being played each day on Friday-Sunday, Oct. 6-8. In their first two tournaments this season, the Rockets have posted a fourth-place finish at Ball State's Cardinal Classic (Sept. 18-19) and a runner-up showing at Michigan State's Mary Fossum Invitational (Sept. 23-24).

THE FIELD
• Sixteen schools are participating in the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational. The tournament will be played at the University of Kentucky's par-72, 6,221-yard Big Blue Course in Lexington, Ky.
• Toledo will be joined by fellow MAC members Akron and Ball State. Also competing is Bradley, Cincinnati, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana, Murray State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Western Kentucky, Wisconsin and the host Wildcats.Â

ROCKETS AT THE BETTIE LOU EVANS INVITATIONAL
• Toledo has made one appearance at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational, finishing in 15th place in 2011.
• UT's lineup this weekend will include junior Pimchanok Kawil at #1, junior Pinyada Kuvanun at #2, sophomore Saranlak Tumfong at #3, junior Hannah Kochendoerfer at #4 and sophomore Thunpijja Sukkasem at #5.

LOOKING BACK AT THE MARY FOSSUM INVITATIONAL
• Toledo registered its best finish ever at Michigan State's Mary Fossum Invitational with a second-place showing and a team score of 41-over par 905 (296-304-305). UT's previous best finish in 17 trips to the Forest Akers West Golf Course was a pair of third-place showings in 2014 and 2015.
• Junior Pinyada Kuvanun earned MAC Women's Golfer of the Week for the second time as a Rocket by posting a team-best fourth-place finish at three-over par 219 (71-71-77).
• Junior Pimchanok Kawil tied for fifth place at six-over par 222 (73-74-75), giving her six Top Five showings and eight Top 10 finishes as a Rocket.
• Sophomore Saranlak Tumfong tied for 13th place after shooting a second-straight 77 en route to a 10-over par 226 (72-77-77). Tumfong's even-par 72 in the first round matched her career low as a collegian.
• Junior Hannah Kochendoerfer and sophomore Thunpijja Sukkasem also were in UT's lineup and tied for 32nd and 45th place, respectively.
