Eight Rockets Named Academic All-MAC

Isa Echeverri, Natalie Knauf, Brooke Maletic, Chiara Paradiso, Alena Sidwell, Lauren Taylor, Sydney Vinton and Christina Williams were the were the eight student-athletes named to the team for the Midnight Blue and Gold.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Echeverri, a junior, has a 3.806 Grade Point Average as a marketing major. She finished second of the team with 11 points (4 goals, 3 assists) and started in 17 games this past season. The team tri-captain was named First Team All-MAC and is making the academic team for the second time.
Knauf, a junior, is a business major who holds a 3.938 GPA. She played in each of Toledo's 19 matches and started in 17. Knauf fired 18 shots on the season. This is Knauf's second time being named all-academic.
A senior tri-captain, Maletic posts a 3.619 GPA as an exercise science major. She played in and started 18 matches, while scoring a pair of goal and accumulating a team-high four assists. For Maletic, it is her second season being named Academic-All MAC.
Paradiso is a 3.950 communications major. The junior recorded a pair of goals and a pair of assists to finish fourth on the team with six points. Paradiso is making her second appearance on the all-academic team.
Sidwell, a sophomore, receives her first selection to the Academic All-MAC Team. As a 3.906 Exercise Science student she started in 18-of-19 matches and recorded a goal and an assist.Â
Taylor makes the team for the second time after her senior year. The 3.701 communications major played in all 19 matches, was in the starting lineup six times and tallied a pair of assists.
Vinton, a junior, is a 3.584 political science major who made 12 starts in 18 matches for the Rockets. She helps the UT defense record five shutouts. Vinton makes the all-academic team for the second year in a row.Â
Williams is the eighth and final Rocket to be named all-academic. The 3.984 finance sophomore has the highest GPA among Toledo players named to the all-academic team. Williams played in 10 matches and was given the starting nod on four occasions. It's her second time being honored with the Academic All-MAC selction.
Central Michigan led the team with 15 student-athletes, while Western Michigan tallied 13. A total of 124 student-athletes were named to the team.
