Harold Anderson coached from 1934 through 1942 amassing a record of 142-41, a winning percentage of .776. Harold Anderson brought Toledo basketball into prominence with an appearance in the NIT in 1942. His tenure at the University of Toledo was the start of a winning tradition for Toledo basketball. He later became coach and athletic director at Bowling Green State University and is enshrined in BG's Hall of Fame as well as the National Basketball Hall of Fame at Springfield, Massachusetts.
