
Rockets Hire Rick Court as Football Strength and Conditioning Coach

TOLEDO - University of Toledo has named Rick Court as its director of football strength and conditioning, Athletic Director Mike O'Brien announced today. Court will oversee all aspects of weight training and conditioning for the Rockets' football program. O'Brien added that director of strength and conditioning Steve Murray will oversee UT's 15 other varsity sports in the brand-new Sullivan Athletic Complex.
"Rick Court brings a tremendous amount of expertise that will greatly benefit the student-athletes in our football program," said O'Brien. "Strength and conditioning is a vital component to the success of any college football program. I know (head football coach) Tim Beckman is very pleased that Rick has joined the Rocket family."
Court has spent the last six years on the strength and conditioning staff at Bowling Green. In September of 2008 he was promoted from assistant director of strength and conditioning to head strength and conditioning coach for the Falcons.
Court is a 2002 graduate of Michigan State, where he received a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. He also earned a master's degree in sports administration from Eastern Kentucky in 2003.
Court was an intern in the strength and conditioning program at Michigan State in 2001 and 2002, working with the hockey and football teams. He also did an internship in strength training with the Detroit Tigers.
Court is originally from Grosse Point Woods, MI. He and his wife Molly have one daughter, Alix.
