Ball joins Rockets after four years at Purdue
TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo has hired Tanner Ball as Executive Associate Athletic Director for Administration and Strategic Operations, Vice President and Director of Athletics Tom Moreland announced Wednesday.

Ball arrives at Toledo after serving as Assistant Athletics Director for Resource and Contract Management at Purdue, where he led the department's NIL administration, revenue-sharing implementation efforts, contract management processes and strategic initiatives. He played a central role in developing Purdue's approach to the House settlement era, including student-athlete compensation strategy, roster resource allocation, NIL operations and institutional policy development.

In his new role with the Rockets, Ball will oversee strategic operations and administrative functions within the athletics department while working closely with senior leadership on long-range planning, resource management, revenue-sharing initiatives and organizational effectiveness.

At Purdue, Ball oversaw the department's contract administration and NIL operations while serving as a key member of the team responsible for implementing revenue sharing and student-athlete compensation strategies. He managed institutional NIL processes, athlete marketing initiatives, roster allocation planning and compliance procedures associated with the changing collegiate athletics landscape.Â

In addition, Ball served as the sport administrator for Purdue's men's and women's golf programs and helped oversee the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, including the planning and development of the Pete Dye Clubhouse project.

Before joining Purdue, Ball served in multiple athletics administration roles at East Tennessee State University, including Assistant Athletics Director for Administration. His experience spans athletic development, strategic initiatives, external operations and special projects.

Ball earned a bachelor's degree in sport management from the University of Tennessee, an MBA from East Tennessee State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.
