Philadelphia, PA - University of Toledo junior April Williams won the women's college triple jump at the Penn Relays at historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia on Friday. Williams jumped 12.81m (42'1/4'') for her second victory of the prestigious event, after winning the women's college long jump on Thursday.
The Rockets walked away from the historic event on Penn's campus with two victories by Williams (in the long jump and triple jump), a heat victory by the 4x400 relay team and a second-place finish by Ebba Stenback in the steeplechase that was the fastest Division I time so far this year (10:13.43).
"The Penn Relays worked out well for us," Head Coach Kevin Hadsell said. "To be able to walk away with these accomplishments is great. We're coming around for the MAC Championships."
The rest of the UT squad is competing in the Hillsdale (MI) Relays late Friday.
