KENT, Ohio (AP) - Eugene Jarvis ran for 179 yards and three touchdowns and Julian Edelman rushed for one score and passed for another to lead Kent State to a 40-14 victory over Toledo on Saturday, giving the Golden Flashes their first five-game winning streak in 30 years.
The Flashes (5-2) are 4-0 in Mid-American Conference play for the first time. They had not won five games in a row since 1976.
Jarvis, whose rushing total was the most for a Kent State back in nine years, scored on runs of 2, 4 and 3 yards.
Edelman, who totaled 73 yards on 13 carries, opened the scoring on a 26-yard run and also hit Najah Pruden for a 5-yard touchdown as the Flashes rolled to a 26-0 halftime lead.
Toledo (2-5, 0-3) managed just 234 total yards and had four turnovers, including two interceptions by Kent State's Jack Williams.
Aaron Opelt, who completed 16-of-27 passes for 135 yards with one interception, threw two touchdown passes for the Rockets. Josh Powell caught a 10-yard touchdown and Chris Hopkins pulled in a 17-yard scoring pass from Opelt.
Edelman completed 8-of-15 passes for 78 yards with one interception.
