Toledo at Fresno State Notes Sept. 27, 2005 Bulldog Stadium

- Toledo appeared on national TV for the 16th time since became head coach in 2001. Amstutz and the Rockets are 8-8 on national TV. Tonight is the first of four regular-season games on national TV for Toledo in 2005.

- Redshirt freshman QB made his first collegiate start, replacing the injured senior and snapping the senior co-captain's string of 28-consecutive starts. Cochran finished 16-of-24 for 163 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

- Sophomore punter replaced as the team's holder.

- Toledo picked up three first downs on its initial drive, before being forced to punt. This was the first time this season the Rockets did not score on their first possession.

- Junior WR hauled in 36-yard TD pass from in the first quarter. It was Odom's second TD reception of the season. His only reception of the night moved him into a tie for sixth place on UT's career receptions list with (1987-90) with 126 catches and also tied Don Fair (1969-71) with 13 career TD receptions.

- Toledo scored seven points in the first quarter and has now outscored its opponents, 56-0, in the initial quarter of games this season.

- Coming into tonight's game, Toledo was tied for fifth in the nation at +2.0 turnover ratio. The Rockets turned the ball over three times, including two fumbles in the second quarter on successive possessions, which led to 14 Fresno State points.

- Toledo surrendered 27 points in the second quarter. The point total is the fourth most points allowed to a Rockets' opponent in a single quarter in school history. The school record is 29 points tallied by McNeese State in the fourth frame on Sept. 17, 1988.

- On Fresno State's first possession of the third quarter, sophomore FS caused a fumble which was recovered by senior CS . It was Herbert's team-leading fourth forced fumble on the season.

- Senior RB finished with a team-high 92 yards rushing on 17 carries. Dawson now has 2,476 career rushing yards and moved past Roland Moss (2,421, 1966-68) into sixth place on UT's all-time rushing list.
