Player Notes

* Junior forward Florentino Valencia led the Rockets with 17 points and seven rebounds and equaled career bests with his eight field goals and two steals. Valencia also opened the 2004-05 season with a bang with an 18-point, seven-rebound effort at Vanderbilt and followed it up with 17 points and six boards at Wright State.

* Sammy Villegas began his senior campaign in fine fashion. The Carolina, Puerto Rico native drilled five three-point field goals in the second half to help the Rockets rally from a 21-point halftime deficit. Villegas now has 208 treys in his career and is 22 three-pointers away from moving into second place ahead of Chad Kamstra (1996-2000). Nick Moore (1999-2003) holds the Rocket record with 276.

* Junior guard Keonta Howell tied his career high with four three-point field goals en route to scoring 14 points in 23 minutes.

* Sophomore guard Kashif Payne dished out six assists while committing just two turnovers and playing a career-high 33 minutes.

* Sophomore center Haris Charalambous equaled career highs with one steals and 10 minutes played.
