Toledo Women Placed 4th; Men 7th at Central Collegiate Invitational

Toledo, OH - The University of Toledo women's cross country team finished fourth (87 points) while the men placed seventh (155 points) at the Central Collegiate Invitational held Saturday at Ottawa Park Golf Course.
"It was a beautiful day and a beautiful course," head coach Kevin Hadsell said. "As a team, we did not do very well, however, we had some great races out of some of the younger runners. We need to get our top runners to be more consistent if we are going to win back the MAC."
Leading the Rocket women was junior Ebba Stenbeck who finished third in 18:07.00. Rounding out the top-five finishers for UT were freshman Jennifer Spieldenner (18th, 18:39.00), sophomore Alison Tittle (21st, 18:50.00), freshman Nicole Camp (29th, 19:00.00) and sophomore Stephanie Dobberfuhl (30th, 19:03.00).
The men were led by sophomore Eduardo Pasko who finished 15th in the meet at 26:13.00. Rounding out the top-five finishers were sophomore Daniel Alexander (34th, 27:17.00), freshman Paul Funk (35th, 27:19.00), freshman Ryan Whisler (48th, 27:49.00) and sophomore Christopher Gobbell (50th, 28:02.00).
"We have five weeks left to figure out what we need to do to pick up our level of competition," said Hadsell. "It's no time to hit the panic button."
The women return to action on Friday, Oct. 1 when they travel to Indiana for the Notre Dame Invitational, while the men will compete on Saturday, Oct. 2 in Illinois at the Lakefront Invitational.
