* Toledo is now 4-4 vs. Marshall since the Thundering Herd rejoined the MAC in 1997.
* Head Coach Stan Joplin moved into a third-place tie with Jerry Bush (1947-54) on the Rockets' all-time win list with his 127-91 (.583) win-loss record. Joplin ranks eighth in MAC history in winning percentage among coaches who have spent five or more seasons in the league.
* The Rockets held Marshall to 38.1 percent shooting from the field for the second lowest by a UT opponent this season. IPFW holds the lowest mark by an opponent in UT's season opener at 35.8 percent.
* Toledo's 44.4 percent shooting (12-of-27) from the free-throw line equalled their season low of 44.4 percent (4-of-9) at Louisville. The Rockets entered the game shooting 76.0 percent from the line to rank second in the MAC but are now shooting 72.7 percent.

Individual Notes
* Senior guard Keith Triplett led the Rockets in scoring for the 11th time this season with 18 points and equalled his season high with seven rebounds. Triplett also registered a team-best two steals and has notched a steal in all but one game this season. He now is tied for fifth place in school history for most career steals (150) with Tim Reiser (1980-84).
* Senior center A.J. Shellabarger registered his second career double-double with a season-high 16 points and a career-high tying 10 rebounds in a season-high 22 minutes.
* Sophomore guard Sammy Villegas dished out a season-high six assists but was limited to five points. It was the first time he has been held out of double figures this season. Villegas was 0-for-5 from the free-throw line but did extend his streak of hitting a three-point field-goal to 39 games.
