Head Coach Stan Joplin
"We ran into a buzzsaw and Louisville played extremely well tonight. I am disappointed because I didn't think we played that well and we're a much better team than we showed. They shot the ball well and just got on a roll. We thought if we got within 10 points in the second half we would be in good shape. We did that but then they went on a run to regain their big lead."
"They forced us to play at their pace and made us take quick shots which hurt us. Their full-court pressure didn't really hurt us much but they really pressured us in the halfcourt and we didn't make good decisions. This is the first time we've played a team like this and I think we can take this and learn from it."
(on trying to stay close within the first half)
"We had good looks at the basket in the first half but we just didn't knock them down. We wanted to avoid Louisville going on seven, eight or nine-point runs but we couldn't do that. It was really tough."
(on how this game can help the team improve)
"This game shows us a lot of things we need to work on. On offense we have to be hard to guard, set better screens and take better shots. On defense, we gave up too many open looks and too much penetration. We were on our heels quite a bit and they put us on our heels with their aggressiveness."
