MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Talmadge Hill threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns
to lead Ball State to a 38-14 victory over Toledo on Saturday.
Ball State (4-4, 3-1 Mid-American) took a 7-0 lead minutes into the first
quarter when Charles Wynn ran for one yard.
Toledo's Bruce Gradkowski threw for 320 yards and two fourth-quarter
touchdowns. Terrance Hudson rushed for 107 yards and scored one TD for the
Rockets (5-3, 3-1).
Ball State's Dante Ridgeway had 10 catches for a career-high 152 yards.
Larry Bostic caught two TD passes of eight and 27 yards from Hill, and Michael
Steinhaus caught Hill's 8-yard pass in the fourth to score.
Andrew Clark scored the Rockets' last TD, with nine seconds left in
regulation play, off a 1-yard pass from Gradkowski.
Hill's passing yardage in Saturday's game was a personal record.
Also scoring for the Cardinals were Scott Blair, who had a 3-yard TD run,
and Brian Jackson, who kicked a 25-yard field goal.
Both teams played a strong offensive game, with Ball State racking up 505
team yards and Toledo earning 440 yards.
