Cross Country: Rockets Complete First-Ever Toledo Snowbird Open

Toledo, OH - The University of Toledo men's and women's cross country teams completed the first-ever Toledo Snowbird Open this afternoon at Ottawa Park. The meet was an unscored event that included unattached runners from Bowling Green, Toledo and Central Michigan. Both the men and women ran together in the 5,100-meter race.
Freshman Evan Baker was the first Rocket runner to cross the finish line, with a time of 17:40 (5th). Freshman Brad Harmon followed Baker with a time of 19:02 (6th).
On the women's side freshman Jackie Baumgartner was the first Rocket woman to cross the line and she did so with a time of 19:58 (9th). Senior Bonnie Stewart and sophomore Rebecca Kappus came in 12th and 13th place with respective times of 21:12 and 21:15. Sophomore Jessica Kraft recorded a 14th-place finish with a time of 21:23, while freshmen Andrea Feudi and Cindy Dibert recorded times of 21:35 and 22:14, respectively.
"I was pleased the way our younger runners competed," Toledo Head Coach Kevin Hadsell said. It was a nice, small meet to end the year for them."
Both the men's and women's teams will compete in the NCAA Regional next weekend in Terre Haute, IN.
