Recap| Final Stats| Notes

Wide receiver Donta` Greene

(on game-winning TD) "Brian (Jones) checked off and Chris Charleton made a heck of a block and the play opened up. I saw daylight and I took it from there."

(on scoring first receiving TD in over two years) "I feel blessed to have done it today in such a big game."

Quarterback Brian Jones

(on last drive) "We knew we had to move the ball down field. We never stopped believing we could win. We knew it was a tough situation but we never lost faith."

(on NIU's final FG attempt) "We scored but we left them some time on the clock. The wind was with him and he had already hit a long one so we knew he had a chance."

"They have a great defense, the best we've faced this year along with Pittsburgh. They're fast and they like to hit. At times they shut us down, but in crunch time we were able to execute."

(on BG game next week) "We're ready for it. It's always in the back of our minds throughout the year. We're already talking about it. We'll be fired up, they'll be fired up."

Linebacker Tom Ward

"Michael Turner is a very, very good running back, maybe the best we've seen this year. He deserves all the accoldaes he gets. He also has a great line in front of him."

Wide receiver Carl Ford

(on 17-0 deficit) "We don't plan to do that. We knew there was a lot of ballgame to play so we had to pull together and get things rolling."

Head Coach Tom Amstutz

"This game was a tribute to our seniors. We have seniors on this team who believe we're going to win, who are going to fight to the end in every game. We play just as hard when we are down by 17 as when the score is tied."

(on final FG attempt) "He's a great kicker and I thought he had a chance to make it."

"My hat is off to Coach Novak and his team. They have a fine football team. I give him a lot of credit. I think back to a few years ago when they struggled to win any games. Their program has come a long way."

(on Bowling Green) "Four weeks ago we knew we had a four-game season for us to have a chance to play in the MAC Championship Game. We're not there yet. We have one game to play. I'm proud of my players that we have done what we needed to do to be in this position."

(on fake punt) "It takes combination of calculation and guts when you make a call like that. Fortuantely, we were able to execute."

"I was very proud of my players for coming back. Northern Illinois had the momentum and the home crowd, yet we kept our focus and never gave up."
