- The Rockets have now won seven consecutive games at the Glass Bowl and 24 of their last 25 home games overall. Their only home loss in the last 25 games was a 27-13 setback to Miami on Oct. 26, 2002.
- Toledo has defeated NIU for the 10th consecutive time. Toledo is now 25-6 vs. the Huskies overall, and 16-1 vs. NIU in the Glass Bowl.
- No. 21 NIU is the second ranked team that Toledo has defeated this season. UT beat then-No.9 Pittsburgh, 35-31, in the Glass Bowl on Sept. 20.
- Toledo now controls its own destiny with respect to winning the MAC West Division and advancing to the MAC Championship Game for the third consecutive time. If UT beats Bowling Green on Nov. 28 then the Rockets would host East Division champ Miami in the MAC Championship Game on Dec. 4. BG needs to win one of its two games before Nov. 28 (Kent State and EMU) and beat Toledo to host the game. NIU needs Toledo to lose its next two games, and BG to lose two of its final three games to host the title game.
- Sophomore quarterback Bruce Gradkowski completed 24-27 passes for 301 yards and three TDs. His completion percentage of 88.9% is second in UT history only to his own record of 92.0% (23-25) set vs. Buffalo on Nov. 1. So in his last two games, Gradkowski is 47-52 (90.4%).
- Gradkowski connected on his first 14 pass attempts of the game. His first incomplete pass came late in the second quarter. Going back to the Buffalo game, Gradkowski completed 19 straight passes.
- Junior Lance Moore's nine receptions gives him 87 for the season, setting a UT season record. The previous high mark of 81 set by Don Fair in 1970. Going into the game Moore led the nation in receptions with 8.67 catches per game.
- Moore also had 105 receiving yards, the sixth game this season he has gone over 100 yards in a game. He now has 1,004 receiving yards for the season, second on UT's all-time list only to Carl Ford, who had 1,062 last year.
- Junior tight end Andrew Clarke's 50-yard TD reception on third-and-33 was the longest pass reception of his career. He had two TD catches, giving him seven for the season (tied for seventh on UT's list) and 17 for his career (tied for second). Lance Moore also has seven TD catches this year.
- Senior Brandon Hefflin picked off his fifth ball of the season and the 16th of his career (third all-time at UT).
