Recap| Final Stats| Notes

Toledo Head Coach Tom Amstutz

General Comments
"I'm really happy for this team. We met a lot of our goals we set at the beginning of the season. I give a lot of credit to our senior class. The senior leadership that we have had, the coaching staff, the administration, the university and the fans, I also give them a lot of credit. This is a really special feeling to be West Division co-champions and to have the opportunity to host the MAC Championship game. We wanted to go to a bowl game and our players deserved to go. Obviously, I am very thankful right now."

Comments on the Fog
"It was hard to see the ball on deep passes. We definitely had to make some adjustments on both sides of the ball. This was an even field. There was some adjustments, but not that many."

Comments on Knowing if You Won Tonight You Would Be MAC Champions
"We kept on talking that about how something good was going to happen if we kept believing in ourselves and kept on winning. All we could do is take care of our business and keep on winning. We beat a tough Western Michigan team, a tough Northern Illinois team and a tough Eastern Michigan. I told our players that Ball State had lost. As a result of that, we then knew what we are playing for and for what could be accomplished. Our focus was still on the game."

On Where the Team is at This Point in the Season
"Were playing pretty good football right now, but we still need to go back to work because we have a big game remaining with Bowling Green next week. We have finish the regular season in the right way and then get ourselves ready for the MAC Championship Game. Were going to have a lot of fun and make sure our players enjoy these next few weeks. I am going to treat them like champions because that is what they are."

Comments on Next Week's Game with Arch-Rival Bowling Green
"That is always a big rivalry game no matter what the records are for both teams. It just happens that both teams will enter the game with pretty good records. We really respect their team, and we know it is going to be a hard battle."

Comments on Was it Worth the Wait to Be a Head Coach and to Host the MAC Championship Game

"I love it. It was worth the wait. It just happened to be good timing in my first year. We are bringing in a really explosive Marshall team. What a game that is going to be."

Chester Taylor

"It's a great opportunity knowing Marshall has to come here and play us. There is nothing like being at home and playing in front of the home crowd and having them behind us."

"That's my second touchdown pass of the year and I'm proud of myself. I was just trying to help my team win."

Andy Boyd

"I watched the 1995 Las Vegas Bowl when Toledo was in it. It was the last time Toledo played a bowl game. I remember watching that game and thinking 'Man, I hope to get Toledo in that position again.' Our main goal is to win the MAC Championship and get a ring on our fingers. The Motor City Bowl is just icing on the cake."

Donta Greene

On Punt Return
"I had room to catch the ball and I saw a crease and I took it. It feels good to make a little history."

"The whole season started off with good coaching and we knew we had the had the players to compete and win the MAC Championship. Know we are playing for it and it's here and we just can't wait to play."

Tavares Bolden

"I feel like my career here has been long. I never have had a chance to participate in a championship game, but I was hoping for the best this season. The opportunity has come and I'm very thankful. The season was a struggle, but we knew we had a lot of talent. We are just doing our best right now."

"We were really disappointed last year. We had a great season and didn't get a bowl opportunity. This is something we have been dreaming for."
