Women's Soccer: Rj. Anderson Resigns as Head Women's Soccer Coach

TOLEDO, OH - Rj. Anderson has resigned from his post as the head women's soccer coach at the University of Toledo, UT Athletic Director Pete Liske announced today.
"I'm sorry to lose someone like Rj.," Liske said. "We wish him the very best in his future career." Liske added that a search for his replacement will begin immediately.
Anderson coached the Rockets for six seasons, compiling a 49-56-5 record. He was hired in 1995 as the first coach in the program's history. His squads improved their record in his first three years, posting an 8-9-1 record in 1995, a 10-9-1 record in 1996 and a 9-6-2 mark in 1997. Anderson's Rockets fell to 8-12, 5-5 in the MAC in 1998, but concluded the millenium with a 9-8 mark, 5-6 in the conference in 1999. This past year, the Midnight Blue and Gold struggled to a 5-12-1 campaign, but did qualify for the MAC Tournament for the second time in the past four years.
Anderson came to UT from Saint Mary's University in Winona, MI, where he was the head men's soccer coach and the director of international admissions.
Anderson, 51, has over 35 years of soccer experience at the national and international level as a coach, official and professional player. Prior to his stint at Saint Mary's University, he was the head men's coach at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., for two seasons, and was named MIAC coach of the year in 1992.
A 1972 graduate of Nottingham University in England with a bachelor of arts degree in English literature, Anderson was a top-rated collegiate official from 1988-91.
Anderson was a professional player in Scotland for the Glasgow Rangers from 1963-66 and was a semi-professional soccer player in England, Holland, France and West Germany.
