The Olympics officially come to a close tonight with ceremonies occurring this evening. Just like that, one month has flown by. I can still remember exact details of getting off of the plane and reporters asking me what country I was representing when I wore a Cincinnati Bengals hat.
Now it is time to come home, starting from square one with far higher goals than before. This experience has changed my life forever. I would just like to thank all of those who have helped push me to where I am now. All of the support and criticism, it has all been helpful. I guess the people that doubted me even getting to this point can doubt me getting a medal at the next Olympics.
The Australians are really good at the wave. Before the last event of the evening (4x400m relay), the crowd was given a heaping dose of Polka music, and the crowd went wild. I have never seen anything like that before. Everyone had a good time, no matter what country each person hailed from.

Closing ceremonies was a blast. It was absolute pandemonium out there with all the activites. From salsa dancing to football with styrofoam balls, everyone enjoyed it. Paul Hogan was at the stadium and he shaved his beard with his famous Crocadile Dundee hunting knife. We went right into the stands to greet everyone, which won bonus points with the Australians. I am outta here for now. Gotta get packing for that 6 am flight back home.
