From 1985-1988, Tom Marsh played on teams that went a combined 104-101. Marsh was a pitcher and centerfielder. He posted a 2-0 record with a 2.16 ERA in two starts as a freshman. He tied the single-season record for home runs as a sophomore with nine. Marsh was named All-MAC as a senior. He served as a co-captain and led the team in virtually every major offensive category, including batting average (.361), home runs (13 - fourth in the MAC), runs batted in (43), runs scored (47- sixth in the MAC), and total bases (119). Marsh started eight games as a pitcher his senior year, ending the season with a 5-1 record and 28 strikeouts. He led the Rocket pitching staff to a team ERA of 4.08, the second-best mark in the MAC. He was drafted by Philadelphia in the 16th round of the 1988 MLB draft.
