Steve Mix was first-team all-Mid-American Conference selection in 1966-67, 1967-68 1968-69, earning MAC Player of the Year honors as a senior. He led the Rockets to the NCAA Tournament as a sophomore in 1967, averaging 23.0 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. As a junior he averaged 21.8 points and 10.2 rebounds, and as senior notched 24.1 and 12.1 boards. Mix is ranked fifth in Toledo history with 1,676 total points and is the all-time leader in points per game with 23.0. He played professionally for 13 years with the Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers and made the 1974-75 NBA All-Star Team.
