Sam Tisci was a three-year starter at quarterback and defensive back. In 1957, he was second-team All-MAC and lead the conference in passing (most completions). He also served as team captain. He led the team in interceptions, returned punts and kickoffs. He signed in UT Varsity 'T' Hall of Fame, page 3 1960 with the AFL Los Angeles Chargers. As a baseball player, Tisci was All-MAC in 1956 with a .412 batting average. In 1957, he was All-MAC with a .392 batting average. He signed with the Kansas City Athletics in the spring of 1958 and played for three years.
