Ron Junko was a two-time MAC champion (1970 and 1971) and three-time NCAA qualifier. In 1970 he placed sixth in the nation in his weight class (134 pounds) and earned All-America honors for the Rockets, who finished 13th in the nation that season, the second-highest in school history. Captain of the 1970 and 1971 squads, Junko was the 4-I Tournament champion in 1969 and placed first at the 1971 Midwest Regional NCAA Qualifying Tournament. He was a member of the 1969 MAC Champion team.
