Marty Slovak lettered in football in 1935-37 as an offensive halfback and a defensive linebacker. He was captain of the 1937 team, and was the first Rocket ever to play in the College All-Star game vs. the Cleveland Rams. Slovak was a member of the first Rocket team to beat Miami, 13-7 in 1937. He played in the Pacific Area Army-Navy all-star game in Hawaii in 1945 with Hall of Famer Ted Zuchowski.
