Hall of Fame
Linda Janicki starred on the women's basketball squad from 1980-84 and is the first woman to be selected for induction into the Varsity "T" Hall of fame. Her many honors while at The University of Toledo include: All-MAC first-team selection in 1984, All-MAC second-team selection in 1983, Ohio Player of Week during the 1982-83 season and MAC Player of the Week twice. Janicki was named an All-MAC Academic honorable mention in 1984. She was a fifth round draft choice of the Columbus franchise of the Women's American Basketball Association Professional League in 1984. She finished her career with 1477 total points (8th in UT history), 14.6 points per game (6th), 989 rebounds (2nd), .508 field goal percentage (8th) and 9.8 rebounds per game (1st). She is also ranked 5th in scoring average for a season with 17.1, 7th in field goals made with 210 and 6th in rebounds at 279. Janicki is a Toledo native and a graduate of Whitmer High School.
